Our client is a well-established automotive and mobility group in the Netherlands, with a nationwide footprint. The organisation represents multiple leading automotive brands across both passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

The business offers an integrated, end-to-end mobility proposition, including vehicle sales (new and used), leasing, and aftersales services. It has built a strong reputation based on its regional presence, customer-centric approach, and deep sector expertise.

Recently, the company entered into a strategic partnership with a large, family-owned international automotive group. This collaboration is designed to accelerate growth, enhance market positioning, and support long-term development, including access to broader capabilities and international scale.

The position

The new HR Director position is broad and requires the candidate to be able to switch smoothly between strategy and operations (if necessary) and to connect within the organization.

In addition to the collegial responsibility, the HR Director has the most important responsibilities, including leadership at the current branches and in the field of learning & development.

At the moment, the HR team consists of 7 FTEs. He/she reports to the CEO of our client.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Achieving the budgeted objectives;
  • Direct management of the HR team;
  • Responsible for the hiring, promotion and outflow of personnel;
  • Responsible for an optimal occupancy rate;
  • Translating business strategy into HR programs and initiatives;
  • Stimulating a strong, customer-oriented and entrepreneurial culture;
  • Developing leadership within company's branches;
  • Securing a strong talent pipeline for management and specialist functions;
  • Implementing performance management and development programs;
  • Ensuring effective HR processes and HR systems;
  • Monitoring compliance with labor legislation and collective labor agreements.

Candidate profile

Knowledge and experience

  • Academic working and thinking level, preferably in HRM, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or Law;
  • At least 10–15 years of relevant HR experience, of which several years in a senior HR leadership role;
  • Experience within a blue colour organisation (e.g. construction, retail, automotive, logistics, hospitality or industry);
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing HR strategy linked to business objectives.
  • Experience with organizational development, culture transformation and leadership development.
  • Knowledge of Dutch labour legislation, collective labour agreements and employee participation (OR).
  • Experience with change processes, integrations or growth (e.g. acquisitions or scaling).
  • Strong experience in talent management, performance management and succession planning.
  • Has an excellent command of Dutch and English.
